Founded as a pioneering Eco and Adventure tourism company in the year 2000, Eco Team has, over the years, narrowed its focus to become the most sought-after specialist in Wildlife Tourism and Experiential Travel.

With five specialised accommodation brands under its umbrella, Eco Team features the most unique Tented Accommodations & Lodges in the country.

Eco Team believes that requirements and expectations of world travellers have changed rapidly and have become more unique. As a result, tourism providers are no longer in a position to offer pre-packaged mass products to clients. The need of the hour is to find the smallest of niches and provide customised tour solutions.

Eco Team’s responsible tourism ethos and values remain unchanged, with the focus being on community benefit and partnerships, conservation through tourism, minimising carbon emission, and preserving local values and culture.

Founded by entrepreneur and innovator Anuruddha Bandara, Eco Team is a company of ‘firsts’ and has been a pioneering force behind many initiatives, constantly striving to make a difference in every endeavour. Turning 20 in the year 2020, Eco Team continues to flourish and currently provides services to over 140 national and international companies across the globe.

Our Founder

Mr. Anuruddha Bandara
Mr. Anuruddha Bandara, also known as AB, is an award-winning entrepreneur who has built a reputation as a niche tourism specialist, explorer, and management trainer.

He has travelled to all parts of Sri Lanka and approximately 13% outside of it. As Founder / CEO and Master Crafter of Experiences & Encounters, he has navigated Eco Team (Pvt) Ltd. to becoming the most diversified tourism specialist group in Sri Lanka – a parent company to 10 renowned, niche tourism brands. As the Founder and President of the Sri Lanka Wilderness Foundation, he has taken environmental conservation to a national platform.

Mr. Sarinda Unamboowe

A Director of MAS’ Apparel Board, Mr. Sarinda Unamboowe is currently the CEO & Managing Director of MAS Kreeda, the Nike division of MAS Holdings, and heads Environmental Sustainability for the Group. Having joined MAS in 2001 as the CEO of Linea Aqua, he is also a member of MAS’ Innovations Leadership Team and serves on the Board of Biodiversity Sri Lanka.

He had held the positions of Chief Operating Officer of Jk Marketing Services Pvt Ltd., Chief Executive Officer for MAS Holdings (Pvt) Ltd., Account Officer at Standard Chartered International (USA) Ltd. and General Manager-Sales at John Keells Stock Brokers (Pvt) Ltd. as well.
